In 2018, when I was about to make a presentation on THINKING LOCALLY, WRITING GLOBALLY, at Littworld (an international publishing conference), in Singapore, organized by MAI, an African woman came to me and said something I will never forget, “The whole of Africa is with you today.” It was very inspiring even though the presentation was not limited to Africa or it’s representation.
Popular cultures are gradually exhausting their uniqueness. Most of their secrets are now in the public market. There is a need for those cultures who still have untapped local values to share them globally and inspire the world into deeper innovation. Ideas are travellers. They cannot be limited to one culture.
