In my first write-up, I advised that those who need to brand their cultures must first engage in general assessment and agree on one important and unique aspect of the culture they want to brand.
Secondly, they need to build a compelling vision around it and share it within the community. A vision must be practical and realistic. It has to be written using the past tense. Instead of TRANSFORMATION OF LEADERS, my vision (using past tense) is TRANSFORMED LEADERS. It is so because I have already visited the city mentally now I am back to take others there.
People will hardly sacrifice anything for a leader, authority or even their culture if the WHY is not clear. The vision must be very clear and precise. People must recall it to act on it.
Leaders must not invest time in talking about the problems. That stimulates constant arguments. People need to be encouraged to talk more about the vision and less about the discovered problems. SOLUTIONS must dominate their conversations.
