A man sits alone at a table in a bright room, displaying deep contemplation.

BLINDNESS OF THE MIND

I was born into light, but I truly saw it for the first time in 1991 when I made the best decision of my life. You might wonder what that decision was, but I believe I won’t be an effective writer if I reveal it too soon. You need to work through this text with me before discovering the light that I found for myself. Just like me, many people have sight but cannot truly see.

For instance, a man may live in a joyful environment yet fail to benefit from it. Availability does not guarantee presence; rather, it is about discovery. You can build a house on land that has gold beneath it, but you won’t become wealthy until the gold is discovered and utilized.

A mind is blind when it fails to recognize and make use of the resources around it—resources like time, knowledge, relationships, and land. It is not just about having a sound mind; many capable individuals do not apply their potential effectively. What makes a mind truly sound are the knowledge and wisdom to apply it. The higher the context, the more diverse the definitions of soundness become. A person deemed sound in their village might struggle to succeed in a city environment.

Many people are capable of achieving great things but are unaware of their potential. I experienced this myself before writing my first book. I had no idea I could produce a collection of 151 short stories until I was encouraged by others to do so. That challenge pushed me to work on the book, and the final result was something that many people enjoyed.

Understanding your role in God’s master plan guides you toward recognizing the light around you and how best to utilize it. Your frustration doesn’t stem from a lack of job opportunities; it arises from a darkness in your mind that you are yet to overcome. The day you discover the light, you will experience freedom beyond human comprehension.

Accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour was the best decision I ever made. His light penetrated my darkness and opened me up. I once suffered from the blindness of the mind, but now I am free. Are you free?

  1. That’s true indeed. We all need the light of God to illuminate the darkest part of our lives and open the inner joy which money, position, status, ranks cannot buy
