OUR TRIBE OF YOUNG AFRICAN FOUNDERS AND CEOS

Welcome to a new beginning of extraleaders. A tribe that will inspire us in Africa to move away from ordinary to extraordinary levels of productivity. A journey that will hopefully minimize the dominance of poverty in its different forms, if we work together and build our collective efforts and visions into a flourishing tribe/community. I am glad to be the leader of the journey. It is a huge responsibility but it will be exciting to see young African founders and CEOs who are converting their visions into flourishing companies and succeed in the marketplace for God’s glory.

Monstrous poverty is hitting Africa hard. I agree with the saying that “poverty leads to crime.” Many youths are into drug addiction, prostitution, crime, bitterness, robbery, cultism and others. These will become worse if nothing is done to quickly provide the platform that will inspire creativity and productivity. We cannot expect much from our youths if they remain jobless and idle. There is hope only if hopeful people get involved.

I felt a strong burden in 2018 about Africa. I believed it was a burden from the Lord. The burden came again on Sunday the 30 of June 2019 with a clear mandate to raise 10,000 young African CEOs. The same burden returned on 27-5-2020. I wept like a baby at how backwards we are. The calling of God on me to move as a change agent became very heavy to the point of restlessness. It was like a fire burning or a tsunami finding its way into a village. The potential of Africa became very clear to me. The way to development was also clear. I agreed to do what God asked me to do. I know that it won’t be easy, but I am willing to bear the consequences and do what I need to do. I prayed for resources and the right supporters on this mission. I called my wife into our bedroom and she shared in my moment. She looked surprised when she saw me in tears. I told her about my burden and repeated my desire to help people (with knowledge). People are suffering and need help. I acknowledge God’s hands on me. He is the reason and provider of what I do.

Seth Godin’s definition of a tribe in his book, TRIBES, fits into our market definition. “A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea….A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.” Our tribe is built around the idea that we can only do more if we first become more. An idea that enables every member of the tribe to engage in personal development and eventually convert his or her expertise into a flourishing company and succeed in the marketplace as an ambassador of God.

This tribe is not about sharing money but sharing valuable ideas that can help people succeed through personal development. It is for those who are turning local ideas and resources into products and services that are solutions to the various areas of need in Africa and beyond. Those who prefer to act as liabilities will have no space in this tribe. Every member must be someone who is building what he or she can own.

Our tribe was built around the conviction that results connect us better. I encourage every member to become a person of results. If I produce results, if you produce results, if we produce results, our lives will show results.

Every member of this tribe must own a company. He or she must build what he or she can own. It must be a connection between people who are already working on their visions and have questions and needs that can be responded to effectively through partnership. Together is better is the driving initiative.
