WHY WE NEED A DIFFERENT METHOD IN TRAINING AFRICAN WRITERS

Speaking prepares a person for writing. They must know how to speak and write, and how to write and speak.

  1. Africans can write better if they first learn how to organize their content in speaking.
  2. Speaking helps a writer to test his or her content.
  3. Speaking helps in building a person’s confidence in content development and sharing.
  4. Speaking drives our oral cultures which is a suitable first step to writing.
  5. Better speakers can organize their ideas better in writing.

The “scientific and artistic” combination is highly needed. The training must be a journey instead of an event. They have to receive the skills as they work on their books.

They must first know how to speak and write, and how to write and speak.
